Result presentation of the recalculation of “Japan’s long-term energy supply and demand”

Long-term energy supply and demand outlook in Japan is revised every 3years. However, this time following the announcement of medium-term greenhouse gas reduction targets of Prime Minister Taro Aso, the recalculation was taken for offering the basis of the examinations on necessary measures for maintaining the target. As change of presuppositions, the economic growth rate and energy prices are revised and the advanced technologies are fully introduced. As a result, the energy originated greenhouse gas emission was calculated to be reduced 16% by 2020 compared to that of 2005.
