FY 09 Award Ceremony of the Energy Conservation Grand Prize

An award ceremony for the FY09 Energy Conservation Grand Prize was held on February 10th in Tokyo Big Sight in conjunction with the ENEX event. There was a presentation section set up in the same location for those awarded cases. The number of the awarded cases for this fiscal year was 33 cases in total for all of the three categories.
Modification was made to the categorization of the Energy Conservation Grand Prize in FY 09. As a result of the modification, the Grand Prize now is consisted from three categories, namely: the “Awards for Personnel” category, the “Awards for Organization” category, and the “Awards for Product and System” category. Under the personnel and organization category, an award is given to the personnel and organizations who contribute to energy conservation. Previously, this Grand Prize system only targeted product and system for residential commercial use. The “Awards for Personnel” category is further sub-divided to company and assisting service category. The “Awards for Organization” category is sub-divided to COG (Chief Green Officer) and company sub-category, industry sub-category, commercial sub-category, assistance service sub-category. The “Awards for Product and System” category is sub-divided to for the household use, for the commercial use, and the car related category. A winner (s) is (are) selected from each of these categories and subcategories.
This year’s call for applications opened last July and attracted a number of applications. As a result of the stringent selection and screening process, the following groups were selected for the awards with the number of the awarded cases as follows: The “Awards for Personnel” category: 12 cases, the “Awards for Organization” category: 12 cases, the “Awards for Product and System”: 9 cases.
