Government PRs and Calls for National Energy Conservation Effort for Summer

To promote nation-wide energy conservation practices for summer, a national PR Campaign on Energy Conservation was declared by the ministries-led council. This related ministries-composed “Council for Promotion of Energy and Resources Conservation Measures” gathered the meeting twice a year to discuss and summarize the concrete energy conservation practices for summer and winter.
For this summer, the council made the following recommended energy conservation practices:
- Set air-conditioning at 28 degrees Celsius. Make sure no excess cooling.
- Keep everyone informed on Energy Conservation Act (Revised Act Enforced from April 2010)
- Switch to CFL or LED lights from incandescent lights
- Use national eco-point system for green home appliances and for housing
- Government takes the lead in energy conservation action: “28 degrees Celsius setting”
- Act the “COOL BIZ”
- Switch off the lights in the office as long as it does not affect the range of business.
- Introduce solar power generation to government facilities as long as possible
