New Formulation and Revision of Standards of Judgment of Top Runner Program Starts for Transformer, Gas and Oil Heating Equipment, and Heat Pump Water Heater

Transformers and gas and oil heating equipment are currently included as the target products of the Top Runner Program. The target years of those products had already passed and further the examination on the fruition of the target executed just after the target year showed that the each said products cleared the target. Allowing these results, discussion for the standard revision has started. Besides the market share of heat pump water heaters is recently becoming large, thus the government started drafting a standard for this water heater. This will be the new target product of the Top Runner Program.
