About ENEX

Every year in February, the month of energy conservation, ECCJ (The Energy Conservation Center, Japan) organises ENEX (Energy & Environment Exhibition), under combined effort of the government, and public and private interested organisations.

More than 30 years of history

The history of ENEX was started in 1977 as its former event then called "Energy Conservation Exhibition". Enlightenment of energy conservation was the major theme of the first 10 years focused on industrial sector exhibited by public companies under the government supervision. Since mid 80's promotion of efficient use of energy has been highlighted introducing many of new technologies. The event has developed as a great opportunity for business promotion and yet at the same time various information from around the world have been started to provide with the view of energy conservation on a global scale.

Current name "ENEX" was firstly used in 1990 with the main theme of "Think about the future of energy and environment"which is very similar to what ENEX is today. In 1996 the current theme "Exhibition for harmonization of the global environment and energy consumption" was setup and the event itself has started to grow dramatically with tailwind of public awareness and interest over the environmental problems such as global warming.

30 years on from its setup, ENEX has been developed together with changing society and environment. ENEX will make further efforts as the energy specialised exhibition and to be a major place for providing valuable information and intensified promotion for energy consevation aiming to contribute to global society, environment and human's life.
