Energy Conservation Education

In April 2001, in cooperation with METI and related organizations, ECCJ started Education Program at model schools selected from the existing nation-wide primary and junior high schools to promote energy conservation activities in each community.(This program ended in FY2005.)

The roles of model schools are ;

1) to carry out education and build up system for energy conservation to match those individual school characteristics.

2) To establish leadership in community through keeping interactive collaboration in energy conservation activities.


ECCJ provides the following supports for 3 years ;

  1. Construction of network among schools, homes and communities.
    • Supply and use of "Energy Conservation Navi"
  2. Promotion of education for energy conservation in classwork.
    • Contests of advertisement poster and essay
    • Supply of text-books, brochure and VCR for energy conservation
  3. Capacity building for spread of energy conservation activities.
    • Training seminars for school teachers and community inhabitants
  4. Publicity of energy conservation activities.
    • Upload in ECCJ homepage
    • Appearing in "Ambassador News"
