Under APAEC 2004-2009, strategies already laid out and agreed by ASEAN:
    1. Continuation of Information Sharing and Networking
    • Continued sharing of energy data
    • Awareness seminars/workshops/exhibitions on EE&C best practices
    2. Continuation of ASEAN Energy Standards and Labeling
    • Formulation of guidelines regarding EE&C implementation for ASEAN countries' consideration in various economic sectors
    3. Expansion of Private Sector Involvement
    • Provision of Japanese soft loans for EE&C projects
    • Provision of grants for selected EE&C projects

Conclusion
Proposed PROMEEC activities
  • Expert assistance in formulation of EE&C tools including guidelines, financial structures, etc (By 2010)
  • Capacity-building in following areas: (2008 onwards)
    • Energy manager / officer course
    • Energy audit course for ASEAN
    • Training for financial institutions on EE&C project evaluations
    • Training for ESCOs
  • Provision of Japanese soft loans and grants for selected EE&C projects (2008 onwards)
