Causes for the Increase of Energy Consumption in the Transport Sector 1
  • Motorization began in Japan in the 1960s and ever since this, demand for automobiles has increased rapidly and this trend continues to this day.
  • In response to this demand for automobiles, paved roads and expressways were developed to cope with increased traffic.

Causes of the Increase of Energy Consumption in the Transport Sector 2
  • A significant cause of the increased consumption of energy by the transport sector is the fact that the increase in the volume of goods transported in recent years is being principally handled by automobiles that have a low unit ratio of consumption. The unit ratio of consumption of aircraft has improved and in recent years, is better than that of automobiles.

in the Transportation Sector
