1-2 The combination pattern of Designated Energy Management Factory (as of 31 March 2002)

1-3 Obligations of 1st Class Designated Energy Management Factories ( 6,118 factories/2002 )(A)

1. To implement energy conservation according to the judgment standards
2. To appoint energy managers
(Note; industries other than the 5 designated industries are exempt from selecting an energy manager. They must, however, select a energy management officer.)
3. To submit periodical report (every year)
4. To design and submit mid- & long-term plan of energy conservation (every year)
mid-&long-term:for next 3-5 years
(Note; participation of Qualified Person for Energy Management is Mandatory.)

1-5 Obligations of 2nd Class Designated Energy Management Factories ( 7,689 factories/2002 )(B)
1. To implement energy conservation according to the judgment standards
2. To appoint energy management officer
3. To make officer take designated training course on energy conservation (once per 3years)
4. To submit periodical report (every year)

1-6 2nd Class Designated Energy Management Factory Type of Energy Management Officer(B)
Appoint one Energy Management Officer

1-7 Roles of Energy Manager(A) & Energy Management Officer(B)
under the Energy Conservation Law
  1. Responsible for
    • maintaining facilities for energy consumption
    • improving & supervising energy usage
    • conducting all business for energy conservation
  2. Enterpriser shall respect his/her opinions
  3. Employee shall follow his / her instruction
