Cutting the Power to Canned Drink Vending
Machines at Night and on Weekends

1. Install a timer to each vending machine that incorporates a weekly and 24-hour timer, and cut the power at night and on weekends.

2. The average output for a drinks vending machine is 500W.

3. The yearly power consumption of a vending machine is around 3,000 kwh.

4. 3,000 kwh x 0.4 (rate of reduction)=1,200 kwh

5. The cost of an energy-saving device is a few hundred dollars per vending machine. There is no special installation work required.
