The international Energy Star program is
a voluntary energy-efficiency labeling program
designed to promote energy-efficient products.
It was established in the US in 1992. Japan
reached agreements to promote certain ENERGY
STAR qualified products in 1995.
To participate in the program,
contact an
agency in charge, and it will
respond with
further information. Once it
has been approved
that the products of a manufacturer
or a
firm meet the standard, and then
the manufacturer
or the firm will be eligible
to use the ENERGY
STAR label.
