2.2 Method of obtaining a grasp of the quantity of energy used under integrated heat and electricity management
Example: If a business place that has received a designation for type 1 electricity alone changes over the heat source equipment for a cooling system from an electric turbo chiller to an absorption type chiller in order to reduce consumption of electricity, and receives a type 2 electricity and type 2 heat designation, it will no longer have the duty of energy conservation measures for the type 1 factory.

2.4 Obligations of 1st Class Designated
Energy Management Factories
  1. To implement energy conservation according to the judgment standards
  2. To appoint energy managers
    (Note; industries other than the 5 designated industries are exempt from selecting an energy manager. They must, however, select a energy management officer.)
  3. To submit periodical report (every year)
  4. To design and submit mid- & long-term plan of energy conservation (every year) mid-&long-term:for next 3~5 years
    (Note; participation of Qualified Person for Energy Management is Mandatory.)

2.5 Obligations of 2nd Class Designated
Energy Management Factories
  1. To implement energy conservation according to the judgment standards
  2. To appoint energy management officer
  3. To make officer take designated training course on energy conservation (once per 3years)
  4. To submit periodical report (every year)
