Major Points of the Revised Government Ordinance for the Energy Conservation Law

Requirements applied to the Type 1 Designated Enterprises
In accordance with the abolition of the application of Type 1 Energy Management Factories to limited business sectors, the requirements for Type 1 Designated Enterprises that are not obligated to nominate an Energy Manager are as follows:

The owners of factories and operations other than for manufacturing, mining, electricity supply, gas supply and heat supply (e.g. office buildings, department stores, hotels, schools, hospitals, playgrounds, etc.)
The factory owners with offices for manufacturing, mining, electricity supply, gas supply and heat supply operations

Obligations of 1st Class Designated Energy Management Factories

To implement energy conservation according to management standards
To appoint energy managers
(Note; Industries other than the 5 designated industries are exempt from appointing an energy manager. They must, however, appoint an energy officer.)
To submit periodical report (every year)
To design and submit mid- & long-term plan of energy conservation (every year) mid-&long-term:for next 3~5 years
(Note; Participation of Qualified Person for Energy Management is Mandatory.)

Obligations of 2nd Class Designated Energy Management Factories(B)

To implement energy conservation according to the management standards
To appoint energy officer
To make officer take designated training course on energy conservation
To submit periodical report(every year)

Designated Heat Management Factories Cokes producing, Electric power producing, Gas supplying and District heat supplying	3,000～ 100,000 kL/y	1
