Tax Reduction by Green Taxation Plan for Vehicles
  • Tax reduction was introduced in FY 2004 in accordance with fuel economy performance and gas emission performance.
  • In order to deal with air pollution problems and the global warming issue, promote the dissemination of environmentally-friendly vehicles, and improve fuel economy, the green taxation plan for vehicles was extended for two years and an additional tax reduction was formulated (trucks and buses) that meet the fuel economy standard.

    Traffic Management Measures
  • Adjusting automotive traffic demands through the promotion of TDM (Transportation Demand Management) measures.
  • Promoting ITS (Intelligent Transport System) by promoting ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) and VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System)
  • Promoting the development of traffic safety infrastructures such as upgrading traffic signals.

  • Our country’s economy has been achieving an energy consumption efficiency of over 30% since the two oil crises of the 1970s. By establishing a positive cycle of technological innovations and social system reforms in the future, we aim to improve energy consumption efficiency by at least another 30% by 2030.
