For promotion of energy conservation, a co-ordinated, govt-led approach is useful for ASEAN. This approach has to be integrated with the public, private and people partnerships (3P) and to engage, educate and empower consumers with the knowledge to make informed choices.

Japan has the leadership, capabilities and technologies to address the issues of energy conservation, and also increasingly energy security and climate change. There are systems such as the Energy Manager scheme which can be adopted by ASEAN countries, and we look forward to more discussions with METI, ECCJ during the SOME-METI Consultation in Singapore on July 24th.

The Course is very well-organised with numerous insightful sight visits and we look like to express our sincere appreciation to METI, all ECCJ staff and translators, and also ACE for co-ordinating this 6th Multi-Country Training Programme.
