Method for establishing fuel consumption standard value
Method for establishing fuel consumption standard value

Estimation and evaluation of fuel consumption improvement technology, etc.
  1. Further improvement of conventional fuel consumption improvement technologies (total 2 – 4%)
      - Higher compression ratio of engines
      - Reduction of friction
      - Lighter weight
      - Reduction of traveling resistance of cars
      - Low rolling resistant tires
      - Optimization of engine total control
  2. Engine improvement (Improvement of gasoline engine)
      - 4 valves (1%)
      - 2 valves and 2 point ignition (2%)
      - Variable valve system (1 – 7%)
      - Direct injection stoichiometric engine (2%)
      - Direct injection lean burn engine (10%)
      - Variable cylinder (7%)
      - Mirror cycle (10%)
      - Large EGR (2%)
      - Roller cam follower (1%)
      - Offset crank (2%)
      - Variable compression ratio (10%)
  3. Reduction of loss in sub equipment
      - Electric power steering (2%) - Charging control (0.5%)
  4. Improvement of driving system
      - Idle neutral control (1%) - AT multiple gears (1 – 4%)
      - CVT (7%) - Automatic MT (AMT, DCT) (9%) - MT (9%)
  5. Introduction of excellent fuel consumption cars
      - Hybrid cars (15 – 70%) - Diesel cars (20%)
      - Idling stop cars (4 – 7%)
