3. Reactors/catalyst regenerator
    (No cost)
      - Reduce Recycle Gas Ratio or H2/HC Ratio
      - Lower reactor pressure
      - Optimize reactor temperature
      - Optimize frequency of catalyst regeneration
    (Low cost)
      - Change to high-performance catalyst
      - Maximize heat recovery from reactor effluent
      - Install hot separator system in HDS unit
      - Minimize steam/carbon ratio in H2 manufacturing unit
    (High investment)
      - Modify catalytic reformer from semi-regeneration to CCR type
      - High temperature regeneration in FCC unit, or Adopt temperature- resistant catalyst and install regenerator gas expander

4. Heat exchangers, heating and cooling
    (No cost)
      - Repair heat insulation
      - Optimize temperature of heated tank
      - Control rundown temperature of oil from process units
      - On-stream cleaning of heat exchangers (HE)
      - Inject anti-foulant to HE
    (Low cost)
      - Install heat insulation
      - Change from cold charge to hot charge system
      - Change or add HE (ex. Feed/bottom HE)
      - Change to high-performance HE (ex. Packinox type)
      -Change heating source (Steam, process fluid, etc.)
    (High investment)
      - Rearrange HE using Pinch Technology (ex. In CDU)
      - Heat integration among process units

      - Repair heat insulation and steam leakage
      - Maintain steam trap
      - Lower pressures of SMP and SLP
      - Reduce bypass steam flow of steam turbine generator

      - Optimize ejector size, change ejector type or No. of stages
      - Change driver from steam turbine to motor
      - Reinforce turbine generators
    (High investment)
      - Install or add power generator
      - Install Combined Cycle Co-generation Power Plant
