5.2 Improvement 2
 Furthermore, with the conventional procedure an immediate transition is made to the depressurizing process as soon as the target pressure is reached in the steaming process. This results in an inadequate steaming time and thus required additional heating after holding. For this reason the process was reviewed and the supply of steam was discontinued with the digestive process for a prescribed amount of time after the target pressure had been reached (Figure 6). As a result, the frequency of additional heating after holding decreased and the internal pressure of the digester stabilized.
