1. Standards of Judgment and Energy Conservation

  • 1.1 Positioning and Structure of Standards of Judgment
    • (1) Article that serves as basis (Act on the Rational Use of Energy)
      • (Article 5.1 of the law) For the purpose of ensuring the appropriate and effective implementation of the rational use of energy in factories, etc., (snip) the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry shall establish and publicize standards of judgment for business operators.
        (Article 5.2 of the law) (snip) The standards of judgment shall be established by taking into consideration long-term energy supply-demand forecasts, the technical level related to the rational use of energy, the condition of the rational use of energy by business type, and other circumstances, (snip).
    • (2) Structure of Standards of Judgment
      1. Standards of rationalization of energy usage
        1. Items related to rational use of energy in factories, etc. that is used exclusively for an office or any other usage similar thereto
        2. Items related to rational use of energy in factories, etc. that is used for a business falling withing an industry (other than those prescribed in 1)
      2. Targets for the rational use of Energy and the measures to be taken systematically
        • 1-1. Targets for the rational use of energy and the measures to be taken systematically in factories, etc. that is used exclusively for an office or any other usage similar thereto
        • 1-2. Targets for the rational use of energy and the measures to be taken systematically in factories, etc. (other than those prescribed in 1)
