4.1 Energy conservation of pumps and air blowers (related to I 2(6-1))

4. Standards of Judgment and Energy Conservation Regarding Motor Applied Facilities
4-2
  • (6-1) Electrically-powered facilities and electrical heating facilities, etc.
    (1) Management of motor applied facilities and electric heaters
    1. For motor applied facilities, a management manual shall be specified to stop operation when unnecessary to prevent electrical loss due to motor's idle operation, taking into account of the relation with the power needed to start operation.
    2. When using multiple electric motors, a management manual shall be specified to adjust the number of operated units and to balance load appropriately so that the comprehensive efficiency of the motors is improved considering the efficiency during partial load.
    3. For fluid machines such as pumps, fans, blowers, and compressors, pressure at the used point and delivery feed shall be reviewed and a management manual shall be specified regarding how to determine the number of operating units and change the number of rotations, etc. to reduce load of motors. If variation of load fluctuation is constant, measures such as change of pipe work and ducts, and impeller trimming, etc. shall be considered.

4-3
    1. For electrical heating facilities such as induction furnaces, arc furnaces, resistance furnaces, etc., a management manual shall be specified regarding improvement of loading method of the heated object, reduction of electricity loss during unloaded operation, and insulation or waste heat recovery (only for facilities with exhaust) to improve the thermal efficiency.
    2. For electrolytic facilities, a management manual shall be specified regarding adoption of electrodes of appropriate shapes and characteristics, distance between electrodes, concentration of electrolytic solution, contact resistance of the conductor, etc. to improve the efficiency of electrolysis.
    3. For management of other usage of electricity a management manual shall be specified for each electricity-using facility such as motor applied facilities and electrical heating facilities regarding items required to reduce electricity loss such as voltage and current.

4.4 Energy conservation of motor applied facilities (1) Stopping when unnecessary (related to I 2(6-1) (1)a)
