1.Qualification
Qualifying entries include consumer equipment/materials and systems (utilizing energy) that have already been commercialized or are in their commercialization stage following completion of R&D activities and display particularly outstanding energy conservation effects. In addition to energy conservation effects, other factors such as resource conservation effects, originality, commercial value, environment-friendliness, and safety of the entries are also taken into consideration.(Note) As a rule, entries must be those for which patents, utility model rights, design rights, etc. have already been acquired or are pending, or those which have already been publicly announced through reliable publications, documents, etc. 2.Application (1)Eligibility of applicantsIndividuals, groups, and corporate entities (companies, organizations, etc. (2)Application period The Energy Conservation Center, Japan receives entries every year from June to the end of July. * Calls for applications are made in newspapers and magazines beginning in June. 3.Screening Entries are examined by a screening committee composed of academic experts.
4.Award presentation
Entries that are judged to be particularly outstanding are awarded (if applicable) the "Award of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry," the "Award of the Director of the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy," the "Award of the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency," or the "Award of the Chairman of ECCJ," and are presented with a certificate and supplementary prize. The award presentation ceremony is held in Tokyo during "Energy Conservation Month" (each February). |
