6-2 Lighting facilities, elevators, office appliances, and consumer appliances
  • (1) Management of lighting facilities, elevators, and office appliances
    1. Lighting facilities shall be used based on management standards implemented based on JIS Z9110 Lighting Standards and other standards. Excessive and nonrequired use of lighting shall be eliminated through dimming and extinguishing of lighting through appropriate lighting control.
    2. If the number of elevators in operation can be controlled, such control shall be appropriately controlled based on the use.
    3. Power to the office appliances shall be turned off when not in use, and shall be set to Low Power mode.

  • (2) Measurement and recording of matters for lighting facilities
    • For lighting facilities, management standards shall be implemented for measuring and recording illumination in lighted workplaces, and regular measurements shall be conducted and results recorded based on standards.

  • (3) Maintenance and inspection of lighting facilities, elevators, and office appliances
    1. For lighting facilities, management standards shall be implemented on maintenance, e.g., for cleaning of lighting appliances and light sources and replacement of light sources, and inspection, and regular maintenance and inspection shall be conducted based on standards.
    2. For elevators, management standards shall be implemented on maintenance and inspection to minimize the mechanical loss of equipment acting as a load on motors, drive train parts, and electric motors, and regular maintenance and inspection shall be conducted based on standards.
    3. Office appliances shall be regularly maintained and inspected as required.
