1. Matters for energy-consuming facilities, etc.
  • (4) Cogeneration facilities
    1. Where there is large demand for steam or hot water and it is likely in the future to make sufficient use of waste heat throughout the year, installing cogeneration facilities shall be considered.
    2. If bleed-gas turbines or back-pressure turbines are used for cogeneration facilities and efficiency could be improved by changing the bleed conditions or back-pressure conditions, modifications to the bleed gas turbine or back pressure turbine shall be considered.

  • (5) Electrical facilities
    1. Use of high-efficiency electric motors shall be considered and, for their adoption, consideration shall be given to the use of motors that meet or exceed the following targets: high-efficiency totally enclosed electric motors with an output of 0.2-160 kW should meet the efficiency targets specified in Attachment Table 5 (A); and high-efficiency protected electric motors with an output of 0.75-160 kW should meet the efficiency targets specified in Attachment Table 5 (B).
    2. Where electrical facilities are to be used during large fluctuation in load, consideration shall be given to installing equipment such as speed control to operate facilities based on load.
    3. Consideration shall be given to installing electric motors in line with required capacity based on operating features and operating status of load machinery in light of the features and such equipment.
    4. Consideration shall be given to achieving a target power factor on the reception side of at least 95% by increasing the power factor of facilities specified in Attachment Table 4, excluding equipment of a capacity not more than that specified in said the table, or transformer facilities by the installation of power capacitors.
    5. Consideration shall be given to determining the electrical consumption, motive energy obtained from conversion of electricity, state of heat, etc., temperature of exhaust gas generated in the process of use of such power or heat, etc., on the state of use of electricity related to electrical facilities, and to precise measurement and control by computer and other means of individual electrical facilities.
    6. Electrical facilities shall be introduced after comparing and taking into consideration the features of heating by fuel combustion, heating by steam, etc., and heating by electricity. Where such facilities are introduced, consideration shall be given to employing heating suited to the temperature.
    7. If for installing air compressors, streamlining of energy use can be realized through reduction in scale and dispersed installation, such methods shall be examined. In application of low-pressure air, those doing so shall use low-pressure blower or fan instead of using minimized high-pressure air from the air compressor.
    8. When installing vending equipment for canned and bottled drinks, those doing so shall carry out efficient operation based on use, such as using timers to stop operation at night and holidays, when drinks are not sold, and turning off inner lamps when not needed.
