ECCJ held FY2023 AJEEP online seminar for transportation sector

Under the instruction and financial support of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE), the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) is implementing the AJEEP Scheme 5 multilateral EE&C capacity building cooperation project for ASEAN countries. As part of this project, an online seminar with the following contents related to the transportation and logistics was held on December 19, 2023, targeting persons in charge of energy conservation policy-related divisions in the governments of each ASEAN country. Policy promotion support was provided for realizing carbon neutrality in the transportation sectors in the ASEAN countries.
In the seminar held this time, information was shared relating to advanced measures in Japan taken from excellent case examples outlining improvements in logistics efficiency, etc. conducted by automobile manufacturers, consigners and carriers, together with technologies for improving the efficiency of cold chain logistics. In addition, activities including question and answer sessions were held.
With these activities, participants could deepen their understanding of the details of the advanced and practical measures in Japan and could have an opportunity to consider their promotion in the transportation and logistics sectors of their own country to realize carbon neutrality. By holding this seminar, it was possible to effectively support the improvement of participants’ capabilities as the policy makers.
In addition, the activities could also contribute to creating an environment for business development by Japanese companies in the ASEAN region.
[Outline of the training]
(1) Sharing of information relating to multifaceted dissemination strategies for realizing electrification and improving logistics efficiency by automobile manufacturers
(2) Sharing of information relating to increasing the logistics efficiency of sales center delivery methods by consigners (food product manufacturers)
(3) Sharing of information relating to logistics efficiency through operating method reforms by carriers
(4) Sharing of information relating to technologies for improving the efficiency of cold chain logistics, which will become very important in the ASEAN region going forward
