ECCJ conducted the ASEAN energy conservation training program (ECAP36)
<Training program>
The Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ), entrusted by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, has been implementing the EE&C capacity building project to support the EE&C promotion in ASEAN.
In FY2025, ECCJ conducted training programs including on-site visits under the following two themes:
・Discussions on the evaluation criteria and application guidelines for the new ZEB category to be introduced in the EE&C building sector of the ASEAN Energy Awards from 2026.
・ Provision of the information on Japan’s ZEB evaluation tool (WebPro).

● Implementation Details
Twelve individuals involved in the evaluation process of the ASEAN Energy Awards participated in the training, which was conducted from October 27 to 31, 2025.
The following activities were carried out:
● Lectures, Site Visits, etc.
(1) Japan’s recent energy conservation policies (alignment with decarbonization policies)
(2) Institutional framework of Japan’s Building Energy Conservation Act
(3) Current status of Japan’s Energy Conservation Grand Prize
(4) Introduction of the latest energy-saving technologies and products
(5) On-site visits to Energy Conservation Grand Prize-winning buildings
● Achievements
(1) Prepared the final draft of the evaluation criteria for the ZEB category of the ASEAN Energy Award.
(2) Acquired proficiency in the use of WebPro, the ZEB evaluation tool, through hands-on training.
(3) Enhanced knowledge of Japanese energy-saving technologies and products effective for achieving ZEB.
