Energy agency launches framework for regional cooperation to support energy conservation in small and medium-sized enterprises

On July 22,  the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy (ANRE) of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) announced the launch of the ‘Energy Conservation and Regional Partnership’ initiative to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) nationwide in their efforts toward energy conservation. The initiative will be implemented in collaboration with more than 200 local credit unions, regional banks, NPOs, and  incorporated associations, aiming to reduce energy costs for SMEs and support Green Transformation (GX).”

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC will manage the secretariat, commissioned by ANRE. METI and the secretariat collaborate with partner institutions, including financial institutions, NPOs, and other organizations that provide energy efficiency and conservation support, acting as accessible consultation partners for SMEs.

Information and best practices regarding energy conservation policy trends, subsidies, and other public support measures will be shared, and a network of partner institutions to provide energy conservation consultations will be established, with the aim of developing support measures tailored to specific needs and improving their ability to make proposals.
