The government extended submission deadline of the documents related to the Act on the Rational Use of Energy ー Periodic report to be extended until the end of September
On April 28th, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Agency for Natural Resources and Energy announced the extension of deadline of the submission only in FY2020 for the related documents required to be submitted by the business operators under the Act on the Rational Use of Energy due to the spread of the new coronavirus. The deadline was deferred for about two to three months by the revision of the Ministerial Ordinance based on the Act on the Rational Use of Energy.
For example, periodic reports will be accepted until the end of September. The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy will consider further extension depending on the situation of future infection spread. The decision was made for the business operators to secure sufficient time in preparation of the work while it is predicted to be difficult to carry out as usual due to the spread of new virus infections. The deadline for the submission of energy consumption status report will be extended from the end of May to the end of July, and the periodic report and the mid-to-long term plan will be extended from the end of July to the end of September.
The documents related to shippers will also be deferred for three months.
On the other hand, the assignment of the energy management planning promoters and energy managers is also rescheduled due to no prospect of holding the training program in first half of the FY2020. Term for the assignment will be extended for within half month to a year from December 1st 2019 to the end of May 2020 only when assignment should be applied.
