Participation in G20-related event announcing the 2nd round of international TOP TENs

<International meeting>
Under the instruction and financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) has been implementing the TOP TENs Project. Relating to this project, the “2nd Round of International List of Energy Efficiency Best Available Technologies & Best Practices (TOP TENs)” was announced by the China-based project secretariat at the “Global Summit on Financing Energy Efficiency, Innovation and Clean Technology”. This was an event relating to the G20 (Group of Twenty) and regions sponsored by the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC) which was held in June 2019 at the United Nations University in Tokyo.

1. Purpose of participation
Under a joint sponsorship between the IPEEC and the UNEP Finance Initiative, the “Global Summit on Financing Energy Efficiency, Innovation and Clean Technology” was held at the United Nations University in Shibuya, Tokyo on 12th June 2019 as a side-event to the Japanese presidency of the G20. In Plenary Session 2, reporting was made regarding the IPEEC TOP TENs Project. This is a project that has been implemented by ECCJ under the instruction and financial support of METI since FY2014, and the 2nd round of international list (containing 40 cases from Japan, China, U.S. and France) was created and announced for the first time in three years since 2016. The announcement was given by the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China, which serves as the secretariat for the TOP TENs Project. ECCJ participated in this event as the supporting contact for the project in Japan. Regarding this project, ECCJ will continue its efforts to expand the activities while cooperating with China going forward. The practices and technologies selected from Japan this time belong to the following corporations and institutions.
