ECCJ held the kick-off meeting of the FY2022 energy conservation support project for ASEAN countries

 <Meeting>
Under the instruction and financial support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) (in the project for contributing to the rational use of energy in developing nations and the EE&C capacity building program), the Energy Conservation Center, Japan (ECCJ) held the kick-off meeting of the current fiscal year’s AJEEP (ASEAN-JAPAN Energy Efficiency Partnership) Scheme 5 in an online format on October 5, 2022.  At the meeting, ECCJ gave an outline of the new scheme, explained the meaning of carbon neutrality (CN) diagnosis, asked each ASEAN country to report on their policies for realizing carbon neutrality and the issues relating to carbon neutrality diagnosis, and requested them to select candidate factories and buildings for conducting carbon neutrality diagnosis in their own countries.

  1. A keynote speech regarding carbon neutrality policies in Japan was given by Mr. Masashi Hoshino, ANRE Director.
  2. An outline of the AJEEP Scheme 5 was given by ECCJ, and explanations were made of the carbon neutrality diagnosis methods.
  3. The carbon neutrality policies in each ASEAN country were confirmed, together with the issues relating to carbon neutrality diagnosis.
  4. ECCJ requested the selection of candidate factories and buildings for conducting carbon neutrality diagnosis in each of the participants’ countries.
